Summer Gala season is fast approaching, some brilliant events to look forward to first of all this weekend, the East Lancashire Railway plays host to a special 40s at 60 event.
On the roster is 40012, 40013, 40106, 40135, 40145, 50015 and 55009.
Static exhibits included 40088 (Cab) and the NRM Based D200 (40122).
On the day One-day rovers will cost: Adults £28.00, Concessions £24.50, Children £17.00, Family £70.00. On the day Two-day rovers will cost: Adults £47.00, Concessions £44.00, Children £31.00, Family N/A. On the day Three-day rovers will cost: Adults £60.00, Concessions £55.00, Children N/A, Family N/A.
This weekend the Weardale Railway hold a Class 31 Event in use should be 31106, 31190, 31285, 31459 and 31465. 31106 is to be re-united with it's old name "Spalding Town". Event runs 9.00am - 19.00pm both Saturday & Sunday. Rover tickets will provide for unlimited travel on any train and there is a discount for rover tickets covering more than one day. Adult weekend rovers £40 (child/concession £35), one day rovers £25 (child/concession £20).
The Mid-Norfolk Railway are hosting a running weekend utilising 2 of their 47s No.s 47367 and 47596. There will be four return trains from Dereham to Wymondham on Saturday and three on Sunday including arranged stops along the line for photography opportunities. Rover tickets will be bargain prices and cost: Adults £11.00, Concessions £10.00, Children £3.00, Family £22.00.
Thoroughly enjoyed 2 days at the Severn Valley last week, they showed once again they are one of the leaders in preserved events.

Personal favourites had to be the Colas 56 and the sole surviving pair of Warship’s operating in multiple for the first time ever in Preservation.
It’s the turn of the ELR Summer Gala this weekend (Fri to Sunday). Featuring Class 14s No.s D9531 & D9537, Class 25s No.s D5185 (25035) & D7628 (25278), Class 33s No.s 33103 & 33109 operating as a Grey pair for the first time ever in Preservation, Class 37 No. 37109, Class 40s No.s 40012 and 40106, Class 45 No. 45108, Class 47s No.s D1501 (47402) & 47765 and finally Class 50 No. 50015.
