Hi all,
I have spent the past year looking for an 8.8m Dennis Dart with a pointer body but haven't been able to find one for the right price. This made me curious as to how much they are actually worth, any input would be appreciated. I would also like to know where the best place to purchase one would be (has to be within 60 miles of chester). Finally, what age can you learn to drive a bus and where should this be done?

Normally from the age of 19 yrs old you can start to learn from so long as you don't exceed 50km on a route so basically no tacho work.
You would normally need your car licence for at least 12 months before they would even consider you and in the chester area i would say arriva or stagecoach to go with to get your licence.
What type of age dart are you looking for as darts are still popular with smaller independents hence why the prices are still quite higher than what you would expect.

Thanks, a 1998-2002 8.8m dart is what I would like.
It's a pity you weren't looking 12 months ago when the majority of the GHA Coaches fleet was put up for sale, including some 8.8m Darts from the period specified.

Some local dealers

The first one do have 2 x 51 reg Darts available but they are longer models which have been converted to driver training vehicles. They look to be ex-London vehicles.

motormayhem1 is right many smaller operators are still using the 8.8m Dart Pointers from the period you specified and might well keep them until they are no longer properly functioning.

Funny you should mention GHA, I was looking then but hadn't convinced my dad that we could fit one on our drive at that point. What is the average price when they do turn up?
As posted in the G.H.A. thread, there's a former GHA Dart going to go under the hammer: http://www.malcolmharrison.co.uk/StockDe...C&sale=453
