The new South Western Railway livery is quite nice actually. I feared the worst after seeing the preview image that floated around when the franchise launched, but the end result is definitely one of the better grey/white-based liveries. I'll miss the SWT red and blue liveries, but the mainly white one was a bit on the dull side.
Many ot the 442s stored at Ekly Papworth Sidings have now been moved to Bournemouth Depot to be readied for a return to service.
The planned return of the Class 442 to service could start tomorrow with a 10 car diagram working Southampton-Waterloo-Poole.
442410 and 442420 are back in use.
442403 and 442408 are back in use.
The first of 30, 5 Car Aventra EMU's 701501 has been noted nearing completion at Derby Litchurch Lane.
One to watch, seems its not just the North having it bad!

I think they have been providing a far more reliable, albeit reduced, service on strike days than Northern or TPE - it certainly seemed to be the case when I was in London over Christmas.
