Does anyone know where 4208 and 4209 are?
Been no talk of them for a while. Have noticed a few geminis on the rear wall at laird street this week not sure of the numbers
A few more DLPs and VLWs have been declared SORN from 1/2/18 upon the expiry of their road tax.
These are: 4181; 4208/09/10/12/13/14/15/16.
4211 has not been declared SORN, but instead shows as "Untaxed 1/2/18"
4178 remains as SORN
4214 is being MOT'd ready to be reinstated at Southport.
4201/4202/4206/4208 all lined up for scrap in Birkenhead
The vehicles with the 4200 numbers are in my opinion some of the best vehicles the birkenhead depot ever used. They are less cramped and a decent height down the back of the lower deck to allow passengers to sit at the back without having to duck and they are good for recovering time back when a service is late because put your foot down with those and they respond very well.
If I could afford to buy 1 of those vehicles I would.
I wonder if 4200 will be preserved as its the very first production Wright Gemini Volvo B7TL
Sadly i was talking to someone who knows a driver there and he said 4200 was "in bits" in the yard or something ! If its true then its bad as it surely should be preserved. So sounding what going by on here all we will have running on Merseyside in the form of an Arriva gemini is 4204 and 4214 ...4203 is amongst my favourite , maybe the ones not mentioned going for scrap will stay as pool or be moved further use
Good choice with 4203, certainly is a fast bus and very easy to recover time with.
I undetstand it probably did have failures during its time in service but from what I remember 4203 was in service more than it was out of service.
