So with the influx of double deckers over the past few years the question now is - does it continue or have we seen the last of it? Personally I don't think we have - there's a good few routes left in the North West that are desperately under capacity - with the 7, 8/9 and 53 being the priorities for me

2014:
12 - Rhyl-Llandudno (converted from single deck; new Sapphire stock)
86/86A - Liverpool-Garston/Liverpool JLA (stock upgrade)
375/385 - Southport-Wigan (stock upgrade)

2015:
10/10A - Liverpool-St Helens (converted from single deck; new stock)
10/10A - Chester-Connah's Quay (converted from single deck; new Sapphire stock)
10B - Liverpool-Huyton Elizabeth Road (converted from single deck; new stock)
12/13 - Liverpool-Stockbridge Village (converted from single deck; new stock)
15 - Liverpool-Huyton Bus Station (converted from single deck; new stock)
52/52A - Liverpool-Netherton (converted from single deck; new stock)
75 - Liverpool-Halewood (converted from single deck; new stock)

2017:
1 - Wrexham-Chester (stock upgrade)
14 - Liverpool-Croxteth Willow Way (converted from single deck; new stock)
18 - Liverpool-Croxteth Park (converted from single deck; new stock)
51/X51 - Rhyl-Denbigh (converted from single deck; cascaded stock)
55 - Liverpool-Old Roan (converted from single deck; new stock)
79/79D - Liverpool-Halewood (stock upgrade)
89 - St Helens-Liverpool JLA (converted from single deck; cascaded stock)

In summary:
ANW: Bootle (21), Green Lane (71), Southport (9), Speke (57) and St Helens (26)
ABW: Chester (9), Rhyl (20) and Wrexham (13)

Does anyone have any ideas of what other Arriva North West/Arriva Buses Wales routes they think need upgrading to double deck?

As said on another thread 352 St. Helens-Wigan is one to consider for the long term, perhaps a mix of single and double deck would suit it

There's very little point in having a mixed allocation. Routes should be all single deck or all double deck in my opinion
Sapphire routes 130, and 362/575 would be a priority for me personally. Both have seen their vehicles upgraded in recent years but both are very busy corridors at peak times and would benefit from deckers.
there is a low bridge on the 362 route and i have never once seen a standing load on a 130
53 Crosby-Liverpool could do with deckers, maybe 47 Crossens-Liverpool.
Id like to see some deckers on the 310 Liverpool-Maghull/Skelmersdale.
The 47 Crossens to Liverpool.

Have passenger numbers dropped? People used to complain about a single decker being too small for a morning peak and evening peak (which probably meant some people had to stand opposed to people getting left behind.) I know AstraZeneca has scaled back operations at Alderley Park so that might have reduced peak time loadings, together with the timetable revisions which make the bus less suitable for some commuters.
