You'd be surprised. I think the new livery (the complete version) looks quite smart and I'm looking forward to seeing it in person

Look at the GHA Gold base livery (one shade of red on each half of the body) for example - that was transformed with only a couple of vinyls
I think its easier to paint and all divisions would look the same as none would have higher skirts than others lol

Your right, two shades of red one of which was the colour of dry blood but that worked. It's probably the shade of blue we dislike, it's too bright and I've never seen baby blue and white together. There's probably going to be a reason behind that.

Good point, it really annoys me when some buses have the yellow stripe and some don't

The high skirt Interurban livery looks awful. It's a good point though as I've noticed a lot of variation in the Interurban repaints in different divisions

These aren't the best repaints I've seen:

I think the new livery will suit a lot more of the different vehicle types than the Interurban livery does. I find the Inteurban livery doesn't sit very well on vehicles with a lot of side glazing and the white stripe on the front of the StreetLites doesn't look right at all

I don't think the Plaxton Centro doesn't look too bad, it's not great like but bettter than the Dart.
Not repaints but 2145-2156 look the worst though with that cream and white in that inch gap on the driver cab window.
If you go on page 4 (post number 50) on this thread from a different forum someone posted the new livery on a Pulsar 2, I don't know whether it's real or not but the blue colour is same as the Solo mentioned above. I think you have to sign up to view the picture

If it's a Yorkshire Pulsar 2 then the image is real
The other easy thing about the new livery is it wont take as long to paint as not having to wait for one colour to dry before masking off to paint the next colour so instead of 1 weeks work it would only take about 3 days as most of the vinyls are done by logo shack a private company.
