that was 2563 long term VOR due to major fault apparently, shame regarding 2564 but as i was told last night 5 or 6 buses overheated from bolton alone yesterday
Good news on the fares front, Arriva will be scrapping the Bolton/Wigan multi-journey tickets from Sunday and replace them with the Manchester tickets, which will remain unchanged in price. They will mean that day tickets will be valid across the whole of Greater Manchester (hopefully, there will be a link in between Bolton and Salford/Manchester as a result of this) and will mean that ticket prices in Bolton/Wigan will drop as follows:
*Day: £4.40 -> £4.20
*Weekly: £17.50 -> £13.50
*4-Weekly: £61 -> £47
*Annual: £610 -> £470.

Sadly, some single fares will go up 10p or 20p but the maximum single fare will be £3.20 with all single fares currently above that reduced to £3.20.

Is this a precursor to a revision of services , giving both the Stagecoach and First operations more to think about .
still a waste as well as theres no way to connect with manchester from bolton or wigan with arriva so when they go on about having the ticket valid for more distance its not really

Think down the line in the future , there may not be a link at the moment , but things do change rapidly these days in the bus industry.
very true its just i know bolton aint got room for anything else and with no depot in manchester anymore i just dont see it happening

It just depends on how much TfGM work whether they would have spare capacity to look at links to Manchester , as you say at the moment there isnt .
they had to do a lot of messing around to fit in the extra buses for the extra work so i would be shocked if they win anything else
Still more expensive than First and Stagecoach and covers a worse area. Arriva logic...
unless they start a route from bolton/wigan - trafford centre then the area it covers is in 2 and a waste of time i think
