Eurostar are to store a number of the Class 373 units when its new trains come into service. They will be stored at Long Marston and 31455 is moving there to shunt the trains.
Eight sets of the new Class 374 have now been accepted into traffic. These are 4005-20. The first Class 373 to be stored are 3013/14 3017/18 and 3019/20 at Temple Molls.
Sets 4001/2 and 4003/4 are at Temple Mills Depot but not yet in service.
A Eurostar unit is to be moved tonight from Temple Mills Depot via St Pancras to the EMR scrapyard at Kingsbury. I am not sure whether this is the first to be scrapped but many more are to follow including many that have not been seen in the UK for many years.
373005/006 was moved overnight to EMD Kingsbury for scrapping.
The disused HS1 connecting line line between Fawkham Junction and Southfleet Junction in Kent is being used to store withdrawn Eurostar units awaiting a move to the scrapyard. At least 3013/14 is there.
The second Eurostar unit to go to scrap is 3019/20 which arrived at Kingsbury yesterday morning.
The third Eurostar for the scrapyard is 3003/4 which was moved from Temple Mills to Kingsbury via St Pancras last night.
