An update from Jurby:
Leyland Olympian (ECW) 87 BMN-87-G was ran for the first time in a while last weekend after it received it's alternator back from Leyland Olympian (Northern Counties) 58 BMN-58-V which is to receive it's own alternator back soon once it has been repaired. 87 is shortly to pass to a new owner and will be restored to "as new" condition
Work on the demolition of Leyland Atlantean (Alexander AN68) 144 CMN-44-C progressed further this weekend with the removal of the handbrake - it took two volunteers around an hour to remove it. It will be used as a spare for Atlantean 134 CMN-34-C

It's business as usual at Jurby
Today Lynx 1 BMN-401-T and Jumbo Atlantean 71 MAN-3460 both entered dry storage to protect them from any weather damage. Once 71 comes out of storage I plan to immediately begin the main restoration - a positive also is that a number of crucial parts for the restoration including seats have been sourced
Rare Park Royal bodied Atlantean 63 2694-MAN received some light damage after gales last Sunday evening however the damage is repairable
Work on Jumbo Atlantean 45 MAN-3432 (soon to revert to its original Manx number 48) continues as it comes even closer to going in for its test
Work on Marshall Capital Dart 25 DMN-25-R is also set to continue shortly with the re-installation of the grab rails, seat cushions and moquette. The last thing to be done before it goes in for its test is to apply the "Easyrider" decals and stripes

Leyland Leopard 97 697-HMN has also left the fleet at Jurby - it left this morning
However good progress was made today. The volunteers tidied both the Museum building to create more exhibit and working space and also the compound was tidied to create more space in preparation for the Museum's vehicle lift to be installed. Other new exciting exhibits are hopefully due to arrive at Jurby in the new year but it's a case of wait and see at the moment
Dennis Dart SLF 25 DMN-25-R was washed today in preparation for it to receive the the "Easyrider" lettering and stripes before it goes in for its test in the new year. In the coming weeks the seats and grab poles are going to be reinstalled - hopefully before Christmas. It is planned that work should be completed by Spring 2013
Recently it has been confirmed that the only privately preserved coach on the Isle of Man - Bedford YRQ 45 MAN-1935 - will be cosmetically restored and put on display in the Museum building. It is planned that the vehicle will be painted into the Tours livery

Ex Lothian Buses Leyland Atlantean 634 GSC 634X has arrived at Jurby last weekend to be dismantled for spare parts for the Museum's other Atlanteans and also for the body specific parts to be sold on. Some parts have already been removed from the vehicle however it is largely still in tact. Work on dismantling ex Portsmouth Atlantean 144 CMN-44-C has not progressed for a number of weeks
Last week there was a "drive out" which saw Atlantean 45 MAN-3432 and Bedford YRQ 45 MAN-1935 take part from the Museum's fleet whilst Titan 2 KMN-504 also took part on the day. Three other vehicles from the Museum's collection - the JCK ERF tipper truck, the Sentinel steam wagon and the Foden flat wagon. A privately owned Model T bus also took part
