I noted it heading south through Wigan North Western at 0849 behind a Freightliner Class 90. It was due at 0453 which made it 236 minutes late.Further delays swapping between the fast and slow lines south of Crewe made the arrival into Euston at 1159 (252 late).

Was this the Inverness section only , or did the whole train have to wait.
Caught me by surprise but a rake of the new coaching stock has turned up at Manchester International Depot, currently poking out the wheel lathe.
1S26 23.50 Euston-Glasgow on Tuesday night terminated at Stafford after an unsolicited emergency brake application in the Atherstone area left nine vehicles with bad flats. Ran ECS to Crewe where they shunted out the good ones to go back for Thursdays train, Wednesday's up lowland having been coaches.

15332 and 15105 still in Crewe DHS - these were undamaged vehicles out of the worst affected half-set.

To my mind it's highly over-optimistic to expect sixteen sets of autocouplers to function reliably.
Last night southbound Lowlander terminated at Acton Bridge, reportedly due to another stock fault.

Any ideas what has failed on the stock this time , this is beginning to be a rather concerning time for the bosses at Caledonian Sleeper and Transport Scotland .

This is going to make them think twice at changing to the new stock on the Highland Sleeper until these problems are fully ironed out .
It appears to have gone forward to Wembley, so presumably not the same as last time.
