357223 has been refurbished with 2 + 2 seating, new floors and new seat covers, and renumbered 357323.
With these trains coming up to 15 years old and National Express having just gained a new franchise for C2C, this is a good time to start refurbishing the 357s.
Class 357/2 units are being refurbished and renumbered to 357/3.
C2C are to lease 6 x Class 387 units from Porterbrook. These are likely to come from the speculative order that Porterbrook placed with Bombardier, Derby last year.
