Regarding 397 this is an interesting one as I wonder who's got that tender (that's indeed if its actually been awarded). It was only actually introduced to cover part of the former 396 route that became unserved when the 396 was recently revised to operate between Middleton & Ashton and residents lodged a complaint that they were then without a bus service.
397 was a trial contract I think TFGM were hoping it wasn’t used but it seems it was so it’s been replaced with an extension of the 151.
397 never tracks on bus times for some reason.
I honestly think there would be more demand for an evening / Sunday 288 towards East Didsbury once hospitality sector starts picking up again, than trying to get the 88 to work again especially when it is a different operator to the daytime.
I do honestly believe that if the 88 was slightly amended to serve Manchester Airport, it would free the duplication caused with the 288 whilst providing a bus link between the Airport and Wilmslow. I know that this would be useful as when D&G briefly had the 130 between Airport and Wilmslow it was being used between these points including with SystemOne and concessionary holders.

I’m not so sure about the viability of the evening 288. From memory the evening 370 carried very few unique passengers, most of whom travelled between stockport and northenden/Northern moor, and Altrincham-northern moor (now covered by the 11a).
That said, the last bus.towards Altrincham was probably too early for some people’s night out....
When the 370/371 both ran in the evening I’d always thought the 370 would have been more appealing to Evening passengers running stockport - didsbury - northenden - sale.

I used it a lot when travelling between East Didsbury and Baguley / Altrincham when going home after cinema / meal.
It definitely had people that used it between Stockport / Didsbury and Northenden with additional passengers that would of previously used the 41 when it went to Altrincham.
The 41 does still allow linking to Sale, and as the 142s are a lot more frequent it does allow it to be interchangeable in the evening.
Sadly the same can't be said for linking Baguley / Timperley / Altrincham as it requires a 20 minutes walk between Parrs Wood and Cheadle or getting a bus to Stockport to catch an 11A.
Since the 23A was removed, the Stretford (for 263/18 link) - Didsbury link is now hourly with known delays and allocations of Optare Solos to Enviro400's that Stagecoach use in the evening.
The
https://www.vehicle-operator-licensing.service.gov.uk site is showing something strange with two Go Goodwins services
PC0005236/163 is showing the 382 as "New" opposed to registered.
PC0005236/161 and PC0005236/162 both show the 391/392 but say "withdrawn", not registered, cancelled or expired.

To be honest most operators details are incorrect on the DVSA website, most temporary registrations to reduce services at the start of the March lockdown expired on the site and have not been updated. To be fair on the traffic commissioner office they have been so flexible with operators changing services at short notice.once we get back to normal hopefully the data will also return to normal
Some of these gains in April look to be Altrincham/Sale area routes that Go Goodwins divested to Rotala Diamond a few years ago.

This has already been confirmed.

Indeed - I'm looking forward to seeing what appears on the 285/6 circulars which pass my window !
