Thank you for update, but does anybody know what reg the Streetlite Demonstrator carried when it arrived on the Island ?
Not sure yet Alan. If I find out I’ll include it in the fleetlist!
Thank’s again.
Alan W
Thank’s for news of 55 & 80 Glad to see fleet list back into ‘PROPER’ format.
ALAN
A pair of 2002 DAF DB250LFs – Numbers 55 and 80 – have left the island this week, sold on to Blackpool Transport.
“Bendy Buses” – all three on loan buses – MA27 (BX04 MYC), MA34 (BX04 NDU) and MA38 (BX04 NEF) remain at Bank’s Circus depot. Thye’re stored out of use on the top yard. Publically visible from the steam railway as you pass.
Since my last post, MA27 and MA34 have left the island. MA38 remains at banl’s Circus this morning but is booked to leave later this week.
MA38 is still at Bank’s Circus…..
Is 44 still at Douglas
44 is still in service Dave. Allocations can change so it may be at Port Erin or Ramsey at the moment
Thank’s Garry
Alan
You’re most welcome Alan. If I spot any more movements this side, I’ll keep you posted….
MA38 – another Mercedes-Benz O530G has arrived today from Arriva London.
Whoops! Typo – I meant MA34 is the new arrival!
225 can’t be identical only 39 seats. is 4 still at Douglas ?
thanks for updates.
Alan
Well, 225 has arrived here with seating as the others of the fleet – 39 plus 3 tip-up = 42. There may be some other differences though, such as lack or aircon? As for No.4, all useful has been stripped from it leaving a bare shell to be disposed of.
A new bus (to IOM) has arrived today. A new Citaro, identical to the rest of the fleet. It has been used as a demonstrator (reg: BN12CLO)in the UK. It awaits Manx approval and registration, fitting of radios, etc. It will become 225 in the fleet.
Thanks Garry – I knew it was on the way but I wasn’t sure when it was arriving!
Now registered as LMN-225-D; can confirm no roof aircon pod!
Can confirm 225 entered service on Friday 22nd Feb 2013. Seen headed off to work it’s first run on the 4A Douglas to Peel via Foxdale service around 4:00 pm. Has no fleet number applied as yet, but otherwise “complete”.
225 has its rear fleet number, but no side ones as yet. Plus it’s the only bus without the “GBM” symbols on its registration plates – they are plain ones. The lack of the roof aircon pod also makes this one recognisable at a distance….
Good job you’ve done here.
Thanks.
DAF 78 has also recently been withdrawn – HTIOI
Thank’s for update can you give exact withdrawal dates for 81 and 54 please ?
Alan W W
No problem
54 and 81 were withdrawn last month (July) as far as I know. Hope this helps
I’ve just spent a week on holiday in IOM from my home near Portsmouth. Do you know why the Citaros are painted in an insipid silver rather than fleet colours?
I’m not sure why they’re painted silver unfortunately
The Citaro’s are painted Silver as it’s the factory standard finish. To paint to any other spec costs more.
Thanks Garry
Correction – 89 was “stored”, has been reinstated for the TT weekend…
Bus 89 also noted leaving Banks Circus this morning for the ferry terminal…..
Hi, just for the record 217 has been in service now for about a week…..
Thanks Garry – much appreciated
Thanks very much for upto date reports very much apprecated, for Ellan Vannin fleet. I check site daily.
Alan W
WHITEFIELD Gt MANCHESTER
Many thanks Alan
No 71 was still in the old livery when I parked alongside it this morning.
Trident Loline number 71, MAN-93-F(ii), is painted in the maroon livery, and has been so for some time; it was the first such repaint I noticed. This and three newer buses so treated (presumably following return to Blackburn for accident repair) have also had their seats retrimmed to match the Wright Volvos, and have been mistaken for new. The ‘E Yorkshire’ livery suits these buses better than the Volvos because of the greater area of cream colour their E Lancs bodies permit.
